Mobile Animal Show Specialist

  • South Florida (travel required)
  • Part-time / Full-time

Deliver engaging, safe, and professional animal presentations at schools, private events, corporate functions, and community programs. You represent Shadow's Reptiles in the field: educating the public while holding the highest standards of animal welfare and guest experience. Confidence, strong communication, and strict adherence to handling and safety protocols are the job.

Full responsibilities & requirements

Key responsibilities

  • Transport animals and equipment to off-site events safely and on time
  • Lead educational animal shows and interactive presentations
  • Engage audiences of all ages in a clear, confident, and professional manner
  • Ensure animal welfare, safety, and comfort at all times during events
  • Set up and break down show areas cleanly and efficiently
  • Monitor animals for stress or behavioral changes during events
  • Answer guest questions accurately and professionally
  • Follow all show protocols, safety guidelines, and handling procedures
  • Communicate issues, feedback, or incidents promptly to management

What we look for

  • Comfortable speaking to groups of children and adults
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout South Florida
  • Ability to follow protocols without deviation
  • Comfortable handling reptiles and exotic animals after training
  • Physically able to lift, carry, and set up equipment as needed
  • Punctual and dependable
  • A plus, not required: background in education, public speaking, events, animal care, or hospitality

Pet Shop Manager

Run the daily operations of the retail pet shop: exceptional animal care, professional customer service, and smooth store operations. You are the point person for staff, inventory, and in-store operations, and you play a key role in sales performance and team development — all to Shadow's Reptiles' standards for welfare, cleanliness, and customer experience.

Full responsibilities & requirements

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee daily opening and closing procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional retail environment
  • Ensure all animal enclosures meet care and welfare standards
  • Ensure feeding, cleaning, and enrichment schedules are followed; escalate health concerns immediately
  • Supervise, train, and schedule pet shop staff; assist with hiring and onboarding
  • Deliver professional, knowledgeable customer interactions and resolve issues
  • Manage inventory for animals, food, and supplies; coordinate ordering and receiving
  • Track losses and discrepancies; report updates to ownership

What we look for

  • Proven leadership or management experience

Oversee daily animal care operations and make sure every animal receives consistent, high-quality care that meets our welfare, safety, and enrichment standards. Hands-on care combined with leadership: you set the tone for care standards, enforce protocols, train staff, and act as the first point of escalation for animal health and behavior.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee daily feeding, cleaning, and enrichment schedules
  • Monitor animal health, behavior, and enclosure conditions; identify issues early
  • Coordinate animal movements, introductions, and enclosure changes
  • Supervise, train, and support animal keepers; assign and verify daily tasks
  • Keep accurate daily logs, feeding records, and care documentation
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe animal areas with proper biosecurity and sanitation
  • Prepare animals for encounters and mobile shows; verify event animals are healthy and suitable

What we look for

  • Proven experience in animal care or husbandry
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
